So I think I'm almost ready to set up shop for custom pieces. Almost. I need to sell a few before I can get enough supplies to feel like I can really get going. (Don't have much money to invest right now, unless the kids don't get a Christmas!)
Just made this one for a friend, what do you think?? I actually am going to sell my pieces without a sterling silver chain to cut down the cost. I think a lot of people don't really care whether it's sterling, and don't really understand how much more it costs. This will make my pieces much more accessible to people as well (and cheaper for me to carry the costs of supplies - which is important as I noted earlier).
p.s. I quite enjoy the pictures I took, however, not sure if I will get in trouble for using a picture of a popular figurine to sell my jewelry? Maybe I should talk to a lawyer about that, anyone know a good one? hehehe...

ok ok ...something new...
I've been getting into this "hand-stamped" thing. I've mostly just been playing around, haven't made much to sell yet. I made these necklaces for a group of girls that I got together to go to the Twilight New Moon movie. I thought they turned out very cute, and they could wear them anytime without being too "Twilight". More stamped jewelry to come!

Stuff I've finished lately (non-jewelry related):
rag quilt (my first ever!) with cool blue and green fabric that looks like different vintage prints and soft fluffy chenille on the backflannel receiving blankets (zane picked out these prints)
burp rags (obviously one is a gift for a girl - sneak peek Anne!)
nursing cover (this is like the ones you can buy with the boning in the top so you can see the baby while you are nursing - oh so easy to make and WAY cheaper than the $25-40 to buy one!)
flannel blanket for baby with soft minky fabric on back
car seat cover - it's like a blanket that has velcro straps to attach it to the handle
taggie blanket (also a gift - you can attach toy links and teething things to the loops too)

tucson!!!...
I was able to attend a few of the bead shows this weekend in Tucson and came away with plenty of new beads to add to my stash.
The shows have plenty to offer - including some great lampwork beads, gemstones, natural shell, wood and nut beads, great vintage lucite, and everything else you can imagine relating to jewelry. If you ever get a chance to go - take it!! Now I have to get busy designing...
Some of my favorite finds:
Bottle Cap Beads - vintage bottle caps fused together to create a one of a kind hollow bead.
Resin Beads - I love these, and I got a nice pink mix to make something fabulous.
Lampwork - There were some great lampwork artists at the show, but my favorite were the little pets and insects by Criss at Custom Creations. I got an assortment of bugs to make myself something fun.
Shell Flowers - some beautiful shell flowers to make some great earrings and a necklace.
Gemstones - Of course, I got as much cheap strands of good quality gemstones I could afford - some blue crazy lace agate, amazonite, pink opal, tourmaline, and yummy colored quartz.
